Description: This data layer contains polygon features representing the alterations of Resource Protection Areas located within Prince William County, Virginia. It was created as a tandem layer to the RPA polygon layer showing additions as well as reductions to the RPA boundaries. The layer also shows what area was studied per the plan. It allows the viewer to see how the RPA boundary has changed over time. The layer was derived from PASA (Preservation Area Site Assessment) studies that have been approved by Watershed Management Branch, Environmental Services Division, Department of Public Works. This layer is intended for internal use only.

Description: This data layer contains polygon features representing the approximate locations of Resource Protection Areas located within Prince William County, Virginia. RPAs include the land area within 100 feet of a perennial stream bank or edge of wetlands adjacent to the perennial stream. RPA areas are protected under state law and local ordinances. In general, no development, land disturbance, or vegetation removal is allowed in an RPA. RPAs were designated along all perennial streams in the County. The layer was derived from PASA (Preservation Area Site Assessment) studies that have been approved by Watershed Management Branch, Environmental Services Division, Department of Public Works.
