It contains the fords as indicated in the maps for Prince William County. Created using line segment creation methods in the editor tool based on the georeferenced topographic and cartographic representations of Prince William County. Each segment is attributed with the appropriate year that the map was surveyed, the map title that it was taken from, and the ford names if available in the map; ford names also allow for further research into the history of specific fords. The purpose is in the land assessment process by the Historical Commission and the expansion of possibility of field verification and further research into the actual location of the historic road network. First Phase (baseline) finished on 1/17/2019.
