Description: This is a comprehensive list of all of the known cemeteries in Prince William County.Baseline data was collected from a 2003 report by the Prince William County Historical Commission. Data points represent centroid location of a particular cemetery and was collected with a handheld GPS unit in latitude and longitude. The GPS datum was not recorded. Location errors in this centroid data are common and sometimes are hundreds of feet in error. Location data points are corrected on an ongoing basis as new data is reported.This data set should be used to identify the general location of the center of a particular cemetery so a more detailed archaeological cemetery delineation survey can be conducted.This data does not show the limits or extent of burials in a particular cemetery.
